Women’s Metropolitan Arts Council (WoMAC) was founded in 2005 to represent the variety of professional women who support Phoenix Art Museum. Our mission is to support the Museum and its programs, promote art education among groups traditionally under-represented at the Museum and accomplish these goals while facilitating a valuable resource of networking opportunities among professional women. WoMAC membership is by invitation only. Members are expected to share their time, talent, knowledge and experience. In return, they have the opportunity to network with a broad cross-section of like-minded women, while supporting Phoenix Art Museum and experiencing its permanent and visiting collections. Men’s Arts Council (MAC) was founded in 1967 to support the programs and activities of the Museum. Membership in MAC is by invitation only. With the talents and efforts of its over 125 members, MAC organizes three distinctively different annual events: the Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition & Sale, the Copperstate 1000 Vintage Car Rally, and Vin Arte. In addition, MAC members provide help in a variety of ways at the Museum. The efforts of the Men's Arts Council enable the group to make annual contributions to the Museum's operating budget, to financially sponsor exhibitions, to fund two separate endowments and to sponsor the ArtWorks Gallery annually. The Western American Art Endowment Fund and the Men's Arts Council Sculpture Endowment both exist to fund art acquisition for the Museum's collection and to foster art education.
