Copperstate 1000 is pleased to announce a new addition to our annual departure day activities. Tempe Diablo Stadium literally turns into a “Field of Dreams”. We invite you to meet the car of your dreams....
Copperstate 1000 “Scrutineering”
Sunday starts at 8am with the “scrutineering” of the Bell Lexus Copperstate 1000 rally cars. This annual pre-departure event attracts car enthusiasts from all of the State of Arizona. Thousands of fellow automotive devotees make the annual pilgrimage , taking advantage of this rare opportunity to greet the drivers, meet the cars and cheer the departure of more than 70 of the finest examples of rolling sculpture ever assembled. The Mille Miglia style send-off starts at 10am sharp.
Car Club Showcase
For the first time, the Copperstate 1000 departure day festivities include a local Valley Car Club Showcase. More than 500 Porsches, Corvettes, Mustangs, Hot Rods and more will be assembled at the Stadium for your viewing pleasure.
Historic Racecar Showcase
The Copperstate 1000 committee in conjunction with Vintage Motorsport magazine are pleased to present the Historic Racecar Showcase spotlighting 50 years of international racing history. This on-field display will feature more than 30 historically significant racecars. Cars include (subject to change):

Tempe Diablo Stadium
Built in 1968, the Stadium went through a major renovation in 2005. Not only is the complex one of the more picturesque facilities, it is one of the most accessible complexes in the Phoenix Metro area. Food, restrooms and seating (shaded and non) for more than 14,000 guests.
